Neire Mâove was launched in July 1992 commissioning a year later in Carteret. This boat original, difficult to classify, recalls luggers of Brittany (see Corey and La belle Angele), the shape of the shell (nearest that of these luggers than those of bisquines), the arrangement of the three masts, the appearance of the jigger, also recall the rigging of sailboats, but the main sails are horned. These sails have no gui: this is not the rigging of a schooner classic.
This boat is a replica of a boat fishing the Channel Islands, built in 1850 and named Lillian. He also served as a pilot boat. There were different sizes of schooners on the coast of the Cotentin and the Channel Islands of 5 to 14 meters and they practiced, depending on their size, their crew and the seasons, almost all areas of the sea: fishing (traps, lines, nets, ...), algae harvesting, transportation of goods and passengers between the islands and the mainland ...
Barneville Based in Carteret, Neire Mâove is managed by the association "tall ships in the islands coast," and by " Great minds off "of Granville and can accommodate groups up to 10 passengers (Including children) on a cruise, leaving 20 in the day and 25 for receptions dockside. Navigations are especially off to the Cotentin and the Channel Islands, but participates in the schooner yacht traditional rallies and was frequently seen in Brest and Douarnenez, as well as festivals in Ploumanac'h 2006.
