This graph shows the thermal stability that represents the vegetation of the roof. A classic terrace amplifies variations in temperature, while in contrast the surface diminishes greatly the plant. The differences are amazing! We understand better why a vegetated terrace protects long-term waterproofing and participates in the thermal comfort of the building.

Failing to construct the roof deck using the surface, if you live in a windy area, we can build on this initiative : install a wind turbine on the roof terrace of the building. Project profitability and noise associated (75dB) makes questionable the project. The figures are approximate, however, because these are the elements:
Cost: 70,000 € (funded at 53% is: € 37,100)
Estimated annual production: 1,000 €
I do not know how they say the project is profitable in fifteen years ? Good for them, because the wind has to be changed after 20 years ... Anyway Hervé Caux, regional director at Pas de Calais Habitat cut short the controversy: "No" profitable " , so ? "We're not thinking in those terms. This is an experiment in sustainable development. The Dutch experts from the wind and the sea, have already set up seven like that on their territory. It's not the style to install wind turbines to split the pear , " (Liberation)
The Dutch argue that their side if the French have followed that they were right!
Joking aside, the initiative is interesting and courageous, it is thanks to such groundbreaking initiative that will make these facilities viable large scale.
